In these rat-race days, we often forget that our most
potential for healing, begins with how the body and soul feel. That being said,
what could be better than spending time to nurture your medicine, while it
nurtures you?
The simple fact is that being human, we are often drawn to
the things that please us, such as beautiful things, good smells, and interactions with other humans – and species.
Plants offer us not only the opportunity to cure diseases,
but the ability to also satisfy our need to interact, nurture, and reap the
benefits of caring for another organism.
Next time you go to take care of your plants, be sure to
take some extra time to let them take care of you, and while you pay extra
attention to your plants they will undoubtedly pay you back with their beauty
and their bounty. By spending more time in their environment you will also
become more in tune with their needs, insect problems, and fertilizer/water
usage. You may also find that your need to dominate, (mostly us men), your surroundings is eased as you
submit to mother natures ways of thinking, in that nothing can be rushed,
pushed, or told what to do… if it was not meant to do it in the first place. Personally,
I have let down my guard down with her, and let nature dictate my next moves,
rather than forcing my wishes upon her. With time, as with all things, you will
begin to understand the need to be submissive to your plants needs, or you will
only receive that which nobody wants- inconsistency, harshness, and a bad taste
in the mouth!
Organic fertilizers are the preferred nutrients for your
medicine. When used correctly and with respect to the plant, organic nutrients
and soil will produce a broader spectrum of tastes, colors, and medicinal
effects, essential to the many different compounds that make up the medicinal
properties of cannabis. Now I know that due to a lot of different circumstances
that some of you will not be able to take the time and effort required for
total organic growing, but please do yourself and mother earth a favor and keep
chemical and synthetic fertilizer use to an absolute minimum, while trying to
incorporate an all organic theme, in your garden and life.
So until my next posting , demonstration, or class, remember
– Its not your designated grow space, its your space designated to grow.
Peace and good
growing,
BROTHER BUD
